Thermaltake Silent BTX CPU Cooler

Packaging

The CL-P0191 is sold in a fairly compact box, that is a bit more serious than many of the other Thermaltake items I have owned.  This obviously isn't marketed towards anyone that would be drawn in by flashy logos or outrageuos characters.  The strictly business box does do a good job to show off the product, as well as some of the specifications.

You also get a glimpse of some of the key features on one of the sides.  Opening the box reveals the cooler suspended in a foam frame, which should be just fine to make sure the cooler arrives on your doorstep unharmed.

The Basics

The first thing you may notice when the CL-P0191 is removed from the box is the BTX-typical block of black plastic shrouding this type of cooler.  From this view, the only thing that sets the CL-P0191 apart from any other Type 1 BTX cooler may be the name and logo embossed into the plastic.  The below right image shows off some details of a bit more interest though...  The hefty copper base, the tight array of aluminum fins, and just a hint at one of the copper heatpipes.

The image below shows the metal clip which latches the black plastic shroud to the copper/aluminum heatsink.  We'll pop this off  and take a closer look at both components.  When installed in a system, the latch won't work since it is bolted down, but while out of a system, you can disassemble it for inspection, or to upgrade the included fan.
