Ultra Products is a youngster when it comes to companies in the computer component business, but they have quickly developed a solid reputation thanks to products such as their power supplies, cooling solutions, and system memory. When it comes to BTX form factor components they really have no market presence, which really isn't uncommon among many of even the biggest names in the industry. That said, they have many products that are platform independent and worth checking out regardless of what type of system you own. One of their newer product lines includes a variety of different uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), and we will be taking a look at the Ultra Products 1025 VA 615 Watts Backup UPS with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation).
The Ultra Products 1025 VA 615 Watts Backup UPS is shown in the image below, and it can be seen that the housing is compact and rather sleek in appearance. Most people probably won't care what their UPS looks like since they are rarely kept out on display, so the final judgment will come down to performance. We'll take a look at the physical features and the performance before drawing our conclusion, and hopefully things will work out all around for this little battery backup.

AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) is an interesting item on the list of features, and it describes the ability for the UPS to regulate the output voltage to keep the line as close to 120VAC as possible. Whether the supply is too low or too high (within a certain range), the UPS can correct for this and provide a steady supply to your system.
Not listed above is the fact that Ultra Products offers a three year warranty on the UPS for those who take the time to register their product (one year for those who do not register). Additional warranty coverage is provided for all connected equipment with a value of up to $125,000 (US). Definitely two things you hope to never need, but it is nice to know they are available.
