BTX form factor news from around the web...
SanSun Galaxy BTX CaseSanSun was not the most well known manufacturer when I received their product for review, untill I looked into some of their other products. They manufacture many cases that I have seen all over the web; including the SN-C001, SN-C0301 and SN-C0306 chassis. They also manufacture a number of computer accessories and power supplies. -
3dgameman.comThermaltake Safari BX-01 BTX CPU Cooler ReviewUnfortunately, as this is really the first (and unfortunately, maybe the last) BTX heatsink review, the Safari stands on its own. By that I mean that I don't know how it rivals the reference solution, or other marketed coolers. There is one thing I can tell you, though. The second you boot the PC, it's like somebody's slammed a NOS bottle hooked up to a Screamer. This fan gets frelling loud. Even as the fan spins down and you idle into windows, it still has a thick, powerful growl that's more than willing to turn into a whooshing whine at the first chance. In the endgame with all its Ups and downs, it came to a point where I'd rather listen to an infant cry next to my ear than hear this heatsink. Sorry folks! -
motherboards.orgThermaltake Aguila PC CaseToday for review I have a new entry into the PC case/chassis category from Thermaltake, it is the Aguila. It has style and is packed full of features like tool less installation for drives and PCI cards, as well as a dual locking system. The Aguila also lets you move your power and reset around to your liking, it has great ventilation and even can be used with the BTX form factor. Did I mention it looks really cool as well? -
thinkcomputers.orgThermlatake Tuba BTX Case ReviewIn German... -
tweakpc.deThermaltake Big Water 754 Water Cooling - BTX?I don't see how it is BTX at all, but this review claims that the Thermaltake Big Water 754 is the world's first BTX water cooling kit. -
thinkcomputers.orgThermaltake Armor JrThis case is considered a standard mid tower enclosure, but that doesn't mean you cannot fit in a Thermaltake Bigwater cooling kit

In addition you can transform this case into BTX compatible design with optional upgrades -- no need for selling it when jumping on the BTX bandwagon. -
bjorn3d.comSpirePower Rocketeer V 500W Modular Power SupplyThe new SpirePower series BTX / ATX Modular EZ-Cable Gaming power supplies give even the most demanding PC users a way to keep it cool. House in darkgrey titanium colored enclosures, these power supplies feature multiple, low-noise Blue LED ball bearing fans to ensure smooth and silent operation in the workplace or home office. Whether it is work or play, business presentations or games, applications can take center stage because they no longer have to compete with typical PC cooling noise. -
pcapex.comThermaltake Armor Junior Mid-Tower BTX Upgradeable CaseThe Armor Junior is yet another great case from Thermaltake, and Armor Senior should be proud! While the overall styling is taken straight from the original, full size Armor case, there are many special touches and improvements that make the Junior appealing. The compact design is also ideal for use with a system that travels to LAN parties. -
bigbruin.comUltra X-Finity 500W+ APFC PSUChoosing not to stop at just the addition of APFC, Ultra has also gone to town re-designing the cooling subsystem and casing on this supply. Featuring a fully matte black aluminum casing, broken only by a 140MM hole for a true beast of a cooling fan adorned with a black grille, this unit was exactly what I was told about - how it would be the SR-71 of Ultra's family. -
motherboards.orgIntel De-emphasises BTX PlansOUCH! - THREE YEARS AGO Intel pushed the BTX form factor for all that it was worth but recent roadmaps seen by the INQ show that much has changed since then... BTX was considered necessary by Intel because then it had plans to take the Pentium 4 and its Netburst technology to GHz beyond the dreams of Doctor Spinola. The engineers designing chassis had to puff and blow to ensure the design was such that it could accommodate the heat expected to be generated by such monsters. -
theinquirer.netThermaltake Armor VA8000BWS CaseFor the sake of this article, let's just say you're looking for an ATX (with BTX compatibility), server-like case with lots and lots of room inside. Narrowing your search, you want a lot of fans (great if they were featuring blue LED too), tool-free assembly, side window and at least 8 x 5,25' drive bays, but you don't want it to be too expensive. -
bjorn3d.comThermaltake Tai-Chi ATX/BTX CaseThis case can used by both ATX and BTX motherboards. This is the first case we’ve seen with this feature. If you pay close attention to Figure 3, you will see that metal plate in front of the motherboard is removable. So when installing a BTX motherboard, it is just a matter of changing this plate. ATX motherboards are installed on the right-hand side of the case (looking the case from the front), while BTX motherboards are installed on the left-hand side of the case. -
hardwaresecrets.comDell Dimension 5150c BTX Media Center ReviewThe miniature tower case measures 310mm high by 363mm deep and is only 91mm wide. Thanks to the BTX layout, there’s a single fan at the front of the case to keep the temperature under control while making very little noise. Although the Dimension 5150c qualifies for the Viiv sticker, the hardware is fairly conventional, with a combination of an Intel 945G chipset and a dual core Pentium D processor that runs at 2.8GHz. -
vnunet.comElonex Prosentia 800 BTX System ReviewYou can count the number of true BTX systems we have seen in the PCW Labs on the fingers of both hands. The promised avalanche of small, quiet PCs hasn't happened the quite way Intel had envisaged. The latest model in Elonex's Prosentia range, the Prosentia 800, is an even rarer beast as it uses the smallest BTX design - the pico-BTX. -
vnunet.comDell Dimension XPS 400 EvaluationWe decided to order what Dell touts as one of its “XPS Experience” gaming systems, the Dell Dimension XPS 400. Our base configuration cost us $1,209, which entitled us to a discount for shipping, but not for handling. Because both Dell and the [H] Consumer offices are in the city of Austin, Texas, both state and local sales taxes applied, bringing our total cost up to $1,334.75 – your cost might be different, depending on where you live. -
